Middlebury College Bread Loaf Campus
Bread Loaf Campus
A summer home to writers from all over the world, the Bread Loaf Campus has offered world-renowned writer's conference in a remote for over 75 years as well as a variety of graduate literature and writing programs. Located approximately 12 miles from the hotel on Route 125 in Ripton.

Middlebury College Snow Bowl
Open to the public, this is one of Vermont's hidden alpine ski areas. Approximately 13 miles from the hotel, one hundred ten acres of open terrain are available with trails and glades serving all abilities. Access is gained via two double chair lifts and a triple chair, and about 35 percent of the terrain has snow making coverage. With 15 trails (one of which is a dedicated school trial), two glades, a large climbing area, and a terrain park, the Snow Bowl offers uncrowded skiing and riding to all abilities at an affordable price. Through in state-of-the-art grooming, a full-service rental shop, professionally staffed ski school, renowned racing program, and excellent and inexpensive food, and you can see why so many people call the Bowl "their" ski area. Carrol and Jane Rikert Ski Touring Center (Cross Country)
Located approximately 12 miles from the hotel along Route 125 and one and one-half miles west of Middlebury College Snow Bowl, the Touring Center offers forty-two kilometers of prepared trail. Whether you're out for a day or race training, the facility provides picturesque and challenging trails for every level of ability. Rental equipment, repairs, and waxing rooms are available in the Center's Ski Shop. A full-time staff of professional ski instructors offers lessons on a private and group basis. Frog Hollow State Craft Center
Nationally known gallery features the works of over 250 juried Vermont artisans. Frog Hollow galleries exhibit a unique collection of fine traditional and contemporary Vermont craft. Each gallery hosts special exhibitions year round. Their craft school offers art and craft classes for students of all ages and abilities.

Art On Main
Art on Main is a cooperative community art center and gallery displaying and selling fine art and quality crafts. They are located in the Deerleap Books building, 25 Main Street in beautiful downtown Bristol. A cozy little town nestled at the foot of the Green Mountains, Bristol and the surrounding towns posses an incredible wealth of creative, artistic residents.

Henry Sheldon Museum
The Henry Sheldon Museum of Vermont History was chartered in 1882 and has been open to the public ever since as a community history museum. Today the museum offers tours, exhibits, and programs aimed at facilitating an understanding of regional Vermont history through sharing with the community a wealth of objects and written materials which document the history of Middlebury, Addison County, and Vermont. Otter Creek Brewing
A famous New England micro-brewery located in Middlebury. Otter Creek Brewing brews and bottles all of their beers in small batches to ensure freshness and consistent quality. Offering free guided tours, including free samples (for those of legal age), plus a nice retail gift shop, and an opportunity to purchase fresh beer to go. Their plant is open from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm (Monday-Saturday). Tours depart at 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm.

University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm
Guided half-hour tour of stables with about 60 Morgan horse. Victorian barn, gift shop, and picnic area. Open daily at 9 am; last tour begins at 4 pm. Admission: $4 adults, $3 for teens, $1 for children ages 5 through 12

New England Maple Museum
The Museum offers a trip trough over 200 years of maple sugaring history starting with the Native American discovery that maple sap cooked over an open fire produces a sweet syrup. Today, the sweet aroma of sap permeating the air still harkens the arrival of spring in Vermont. And a tour of the New England Maple Museum brings it all to life. Vermont Folklife Center
Located in the center of Middlebury in the historic Masonic Hall at the top of the town green. Their facilities include gallery exhibits of contemporary folk and traditional arts and a heritages shop featuring contemporary Vermont folk art.

Fort Ticonderoga
Located approximately 20 miles from the hotel you will find historic Fort Ticonderoga. The easiest way to get there is via the Fort Ticonderoga Ferry that runs between Shoreham, Vermont and Ticonderoga, New York. Fort Ticonderoga was built in 1755 by Michael Chartier de Lotbinere. Through the years to come, Fort Ticonderoga would serve as a major asset to the outcome of the Revolutionary War.

Vermont Teddy Bear Factory Tour
Located about 25 miles north of Middlebury, you will find The Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, the largest maker of hand-crafted, American-made Teddy Bears! A Bear Ambassador will take you on a half-hour tour through their colorful factory. They'll share with you the history of the Teddy Bear, the beginnings of the company, and the handmade process by which they create every one of their Vermont Teddy Bears. Lake Champlain Maritime Museum
Open May1 - October 12, 2003, daily, 10 am to 5 pm. Come discover why Lake Champlain is considered one of the most historic bodies of water in North America. Visitors will find exhibits focusing on Shipwrecks and Nautical Archaeology, Military History, Full-scale replicas, Live Demonstrations, and original small watercraft. Located on Basin Harbor Road, just 7 miles of Vergennes (off Route 22A), 12 miles north of the Champlain Bridge. Follow the signs to the museum.
